Jan Karski(
Book
)
17 editions published between 1985 and 2014 in English and held by 714 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
<Span style=""line-height:13pt""> This definitive study provides a comprehensive diplomatic history of Poland during the most seminal period in its existence, when its destiny lay in the hands of France, Great Britain, and the United States. Although sovereign in principle, Poland was little more than an object of the Great Powers' politics and rapidly changing relationships from the end of WWI to the end of WWII. Enriched by unique anecdotes and archival material, the book ends with Poland's tragic abandonment by the West into the hands of the Soviet Union

Shoah(

3 editions published between 1985 and 2013 in English and French and held by 687 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
Over a decade in the making, this monumental investigation of the unthinkable: the murder of more than six million Jews by the Nazis. Using no archival footage, Claude Lanzmann instead focuses on first-person testimonies (of survivors and former Nazis, and other witnesses), employing a circular, free-associative method in assembling them. The intellectual yet emotionally overwhelming Shoah is not a film about excavating the past but an intensive portrait in which the past is always present

He became a member of the Polish Underground, the most significant resistance movement in occupied Europe, acting as a liaison and courier between the Underground and the Polish government-in-exile. He was twice smuggled into the Warsaw Ghetto, and entered the Nazi's Izbica transit camp disguised as a guard, witnessing first-hand the horrors of the Holocaust

Historia de un Estado clandestino by
Jan Karski(

)
6 editions published between 2011 and 2013 in Spanish and held by 16 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Karski & The Lords of Humanity is a feature-length partially animated documentary project. The film tells the story of a member of the Polish underground who acted as a courier during World War II and whose most prominent mission was to inform the Allied powers of Nazi crimes against the Jews of Europe in an effort to prevent the Holocaust. Jan Karski infiltrated the Warsaw Ghetto and a Transit Camp and carried his dreadful eye-witness report of the atrocities to Britain and the United States, hoping that it would shake the conscience of the powerful leaders or - as Karski would call them - the Lords of Humanity
