Abstract : Smart electrochromic windows integrated with electrochemical energy storage capacity are receiving increasing interest for green buildings. However, the fabrication of bifunctional devices that demonstrate high-rate capability with stable and desirable optical modulation still remains a great challenge. Herein, a facile sacrificial template-accelerated hydrolysis approach is presented to prepare a designed lithium-ion insertion-type material layer on a fluorine-doped tin oxide substrate, with TiO2 mesoporous nanotube array (MNTA) film as an example, with rapid Li-ion insertion kinetics and without sacrificing window transparency, to meet requirements. A bifunctional device is assembled to exhibit the optical-electrochemical superiority of MNTA nanostructures. The as-assembled bifunctional smart window exhibits strong electrochromic contrast and high-rate capability in the fast galvanostatic charge/discharge process. For instance, at 1 A g −1, it completes the charge or discharge process within only 232 s and delivers a high, reversible and stable specific capacity of 60 mA h g −1, accompanying obvious transmittance modulation in the visible spectrum, with a typical value of ca. 30.4% at 700 nm, and strong color changes between deep blue and transparency

One may ask how to produce examples which are similar in the database, but not exactly the same? This thesis introduces fundamental concepts in Variational Generative Model which is one of the first of its kind to successfully generate unseen realistic samples. Variational networks use reparameterization of the variational lower bound to build a differentiable approximate posterior inference with continuous latent variables. The weak assumptions and simple gradient-based optimization contribute to a quick popularity in such frameworks.The main contribution of this thesis is to introduce a novel variational architecture on 3D shape understanding. We wish to build a generative model that (i) applies to multiple types of data and is able to learn hierarchical features of examples (ii) instantly learns new concepts via small samples and conform to rapid adaptation to new data. Our purposed model successfully attack both of these problems and have achieved superior results.We design a hierarchical variational network to learn voxelized 3D shapes in a supervised manner. The model successfully learns 3D shape style in a hierarchical latent representation, and we may generate realistic 3D objects by sampling its latest probabilistic manifold. We use the learned embedding to do unsupervised 3D shape classification and successfully achieve a state-of-the-art result

Highlights: CRISPLD2 can be up-regulated by HMGB1 stimulation in a time dependent manner. Up-regulation of CRISPLD2 is TLR4 dependent via miR155 and knockdown the expression of CRISPLD2 can enhance HMGB1-induced inflammation. CRISPLD2 severs as an endogenous anti-inflammatory protein which can curtail inflammation in a number of inflammation related processes. Abstract: A number of studies have showed that High mobility group box-1 (HMGB1), which played key role in inflammation activation by triggering the toll like receptor 4 (TLR4) signaling axis in hepatic fibrogenesis, may share similar inflammation stimulating mechanism with LPS. Herein, we introduced a recently established anti-LPS protein cysteine-rich secretory protein LCCL domain containing 2 (CRISPLD2) to investigate endogenous protection mechanism of HMGB1 induced inflammatory response. Our results shows that stromal cells and monocytes showed an evaluated pattern for CRISPLD2 expression after HMGB1 treatment, which was dependent on the integrity of TLR4 function. Pro-inflammatory Cytokines levels were significantly elevated after CRISPLD2 silencing despite the HMGB1 status. Soluble CRISPLD2 administration relieve the HMGB1 dependent pro-inflammatory cytokines release. Interestingly, we found that miRNA 155 play a key role in the process. Our data suggest that CRISPLD2 may have a unique anti-HMGB1 effect via miRNA and play an important role in immune balance

Using both LCL and PL techniques, spectra were measured at room temperature from one 650-nm LD wafer, one 1100-nm LD wafer and three 900-nm LD wafers grown to the same specification at three different foundries. LCL spectra taken from as-grown wafers show that both spectral line-width and peak wavelength parameters are virtually independent of pump current density. On the other hand, PL spectra taken from GaAs cap-removed wafers show that both parameters are strong functions of pump optical power. If our PL system were changed (different pump lasers and/or different detection systems), our PL results would be different. As a result, the parameters measured using PL strongly depend on the PL system used whereas LCL parameters do not since J is known. In addition, a computer model was created to estimate the measured LCL parameters
