Cut paper silhouette portraits of prominent Philadelphia families and other persons who played a role in the history of the United States in general, and Pennsylvania in particular. Many are members of the Booth, McAllister, and Newell families, also includes prominent figures, such as George Washington, publisher Joseph Dennie, and artist Thomas Eakins. Includes engraved profile portraits of Joseph Dennie by Goodman & Piggot and Edward Johnson Coale by St. Memin. Also, two silhouettes with gold toning or gilt highlights, and a silhouette by Doris Burdick of a clergyman delivering a sermon with a stained glass window in the background that is inscribed in ink "To Mrs. Carson from Glenn Tilley Morse."
