The 1999 World Series matched the defending champion New York Yankees against the Atlanta Braves, with the Yankees sweeping the Series in four games for their second title in a row and 25th overall. The Yankees won by mastering more of baseball's infinite elements, they could steal, hit, throw, catch, sacrifice, hit and run, go to the bench, relieve, defend bunts, go deep, close games out, move runners, work pitchers and flat out-think their way through any situation the game offered up. The Braves did many of those things exceedingly well, but no team did as many of them as the New York Yankees. Game 3 is remembered for Chad Curtis' home run, which gave the Yankees a 6-5 victory
