Topological field theory, primitive forms and related topics by
Masaki Kashiwara(
)
5 editions published in 1998 in English and held by 68 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
As the interaction of mathematics and theoretical physics continues to intensify, the theories developed in mathematics are being applied to physics, and conversely. This book centers around the theory of primitive forms which currently plays an active and key role in topological field theory (theoretical physics), but was originally developed as a mathematical notion to define a "good period mapping" for a family of analytic structures. The invited papers in this volume are expository in nature by participants of the Taniguchi Symposium on "Topological Field Theory, Primitive Forms and Related Topics" and the RIMS Symposium bearing the same title, both held in Kyoto. The papers reflect the broad research of some of the world's leading mathematical physicists, and should serve as an excellent resource for researchers as well as graduate students of both disciplines

Polyhedra dual to the Weyl chamber decomposition : a précis by
K Saito(

Abstract: "Let V[subscript R] be a real vector space with an irreducible action of a finite reflection group W. We study the semialgebraic geometry of the Wquotient affine variety V//W with the discriminant divisor D[subscript W] in it and the [tau]quotient affine variety V//W//[tau] with the bifurcation set B[subscript W] in it, where [tau] is the G[subscript a]action on V//W obtained by the integration of the primitive vector field D on V//W and B[subscript W] is the discriminant divisor of the induced projection :D[subscript W] > V//W//[tau]. Our goal is the construction of a oneparameter family of the semialgebraic polyhedra K[subscript W]([lambda]) n in V[subscript R] which are dual to the Weyl chamber decomposition of V[subscript R]. As an application, we obtain geometric descriptions of generators for [pi]₁((V//W)[superscript reg/subscript C]), satisfying the Artin braid relations. The key of the proof is a theorem on a linearization of the tube domain in (V//W)[subscript R] over the simplicial cone E[subscript W] in T[subscript W, R]."

Basic category theory by
Tom Leinster(
Book
)
2 editions published in 2017 in Japanese and held by 4 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
"At the heart of this short introduction to category theory is the idea of a universal property, important throughout mathematics. After an introductory chapter giving the basic definitions, separate chapters explain three ways of expressing universal properties: via adjoint functors, representable functors, and limits. A final chapter ties all three together."Provided by publisher
