Eine stickende Nonne, eine junge Braut, ein von Blumen verdecktes Gesicht #x96; das sind nur einige Motive, die die deutsch-bulgarische Künstlerin Oda Jaune (geb. 1979 in Sofia, lebt und arbeitet in Paris) in ihrer zweiten Monografie präsentiert. Die neuen, zwischen 2013 und 2015 entstandenen Aquarelle beschäftigen sich mit der Idee der #x84;sozialen Maske#x93; und stellen Figuren dar, die eine persönliche Transformation durchlaufen. Das Werk der jungen Malerin, die als Meisterschülerin bei Jörg Immendorff an der Düsseldorfer Kunstakademie studierte und später seine Frau wurde, hat in den letzten Jahren große Beachtung gefunden. In Oda Jaunes Bildern vermischt sich die Vorstellung von Zärtlichkeit, kindlicher Naivität und Gewalt auf eine surreale, manchmal groteske Weise. Das von ihr verwendete Stilmittel der Umstülpung des Innen und Außen gestattet einen Blick in das Verborgene. Auch wenn sich die Darstellungen durch eine beinahe körperlich spürbare Drastik auszeichnen, so liegt ihnen doch immer etwas Schönes und Sublimes zugrunde. Ein Auszug aus Friedrich Nietzsches Text #x84;Jenseits von Gut und Böse#x93; bietet eine gekonnte Einleitung in Oda Jaunes faszinierendes Werk.
