Application of logic to the design of computing machines. Final report by
Arthur W Burks(
Book
)
3 editions published in 1959 in English and held by 17 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
This final report has two parts. In the first part, the results obtained on fixed automata are summarized. The detailed accound of these results can be found in the technical report, The Logic of Automata, (AFOSR TN 56539, ASTIA AD 110358) by Arthur W. Burks and Hao Wang. Results obtained on growing automata are summarized in the second part

Turingmachines and the entscheidungsproblem; technical report by
J. Richard Büchi(
)
3 editions published in 1961 in English and held by 3 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
A discussion of decision theory by use of Turingmachines is presented and is determined to be closely related to the quantification theory. Postulates are stated and application of sentence structure is examined by use of recursive logic methods

COMMUTATIVE MACHINES by Richard Laing(
Book
)
2 editions published in 1962 in English and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
Certain commutative automata and their behavior are discussed. Characterizations of the class of machines under consideration are presented. Several associations are shown between this class of machines and a set of words, and a set of points. An association between a language for the set of words and the set of points is also shown. Some results about this language are presented, after which it is shown how machines can be constructed which realize the behavior expressed in this language. In conclusion, results and comments on the characteristics of commutative machines and their transition systems are given. (Author)

INSEPARABLE SETS AND REDUCIBILITY by
S Tennenbaum(
)
1 edition published in 1961 in English and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide
A construction of inseparable sets of a new type is presented. A rather curious application of these to the theory of machine reducibility is given as initiated by E. Post (Bull. Amer. Math. Soc., 50:281316, (1944)). (Author)
