"For 15-year-old Lucien (Damien Jouillerot), there's nothing more embarrassing than his father Jacques' (Jacques Villeret) circus routine. Dressing up in funny feet, white makeup, and a bright red nose to entertain the village, he's a hit with everyone except his own son. But, as Jacques' best friend André (Andé Dussollier) explains, there's a history to his act that goes beyond simple clowning and to his experiences in the Second World War"--Http://

Les enfants du marais by Jean Becker( Visual )

29 editions published between 1998 and 2013 in 3 languages and held by 51 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

"Set in 1932, in a hamlet in the Marais, a quiet region of the River Loire, LES ENFANTS glows with a wonderful bouquet of eccentric friends who all look and behave as though they've never been out of sight of home, or ever wanted to be: Andre Dussollier as a dandy with a wind-up gramophone and a stack of jazz records; Michel Serrault as the self-made man of property; Jacques Villeret, lately seen in Le Diner de cons; and Jacques Gamblin as a contented couple of tradesmen; Isabelle Carre, as a local girl who is Gamblin's unpossessable beloved. Becker fills his frames with lovely landscapes, nice folk, charm, whimsy, gentle humor. The seasons change, but time stands still, since the characters don't know what we do: that Hitler is less than a decade away and the Occupation will turn this little paradise into history. A magical tale of friendship, mortality and the inevitability of fate."--Alexander Walker, BBC Online

Le bon et les méchants ; Viva la vie by Claude Lelouch( Visual )

9 editions published between 2000 and 2015 in French and held by 18 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Viva la vie: "Through a series of convoluted turns, like a tornado going through Kansas, director Claude Lelouch has managed to keep a vacuum at the center of his film. A corporate executive (Michel Piccoli and a young actress (Evelyne Bouix) suddenly disappear and reappear and disappear, almost as fast as blinking Christmas tree lights. Since neither can remember what is going on, it is likely that they are suffering from the classic "I was kidnapped by an extraterrestrial" syndrome. And in fact, that may be the case because it seems that some ETs wanted to speak through these two people to tell earthlings to quit gearing up their nuclear arsenals."Blockbuster website
