"This was a series of closed-circuit non-broadcast telecasts. The live telecasts were seen by physicians in the 55 cities linked by the closed-circuit network. Kinescopes are available for interested medical groups. The series consisted of clinical medicine on a postgraduate level, telecast from medical college and hospital lecture halls, wards, laboratories, and operating rooms."--1957 Peabody Digest. This episode is broadcast live and simultaneously from: New York, where there is a panel discussion; Philadelphia, where Dr. Bailey performs a live endarterectomy; from Cleveland, where Dr. Beck performs a live revascularization operation; from London, England, where in a filmed segment, Dr. Morris discusses his investigations of incidence of coronary disease among sedentary and nonsedentary workers; and Calabria, Italy, with an international study group on coronary disease. Three questions in coronary disease are addressed: (1) What is the place and value of surgery? (2) What is the role of dietary fats? (3) Is long-term anticoagulation worthwhile?
