Shawn Sheehy(
Book
)
1 edition published in 2013 in English and held by 19 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
"This culinary herbal puts ancient medicinal theory into modern practice. Using pre-scientific logic, it links vegetables and their curative properties with 21st-century ills--both societal and individual. Though the cures are fictions, some parts of each listing are true: each of the 12 cultivars is an authentic heirloom, the listing of constituents is accurate, and the nutritional value of each vegetable is verified by modern science."--Introduction

Counting on the marsh : a nighttime book of numbers by
Shawn Sheehy(
Book
)
1 edition published in 2001 in English and held by 4 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
"Counting on the Marsh: A Nighttime Book of Numbers was inspired by the convergence and commingling of several factors: a newspaper article that examined the marsh's delicate natural balance, a collection of Scherenschnitte (German cut-paper art), the artist's experience with concept books working as an educator, and his having been reared in northwest Indiana marshland. It celebrates the purpose and interrelationships of the various creatures of the marsh--from the dramatic to the humble--through beauty and whimsy. This book was originally written and designed in 1997. Revised and editioned in 2001, this version was typeset digitally in 36 point Caslon Antique and letterpress printed from polymer plates. The pop-up illustrations are linoleum block prints. All paper was handmade by the artist."--Artist's website (viewed October 31, 2017)
