The top of the bill reads "Ouvrages fait pour Mr. Guibon, par Valentin Kraër Maitre Relieur." The itemized list provides a glimpse of Edward Gibbon's extensive library in Lausanne. The volumes listed on the accounts sheet cover nearly forty titles and 170 volumes. The left-hand column provides the year 1784 at the top with the month and date the volumes were bound, beginning in January and ending in October. The second column supplies the title of the work, number of volumes and type of binding. The two bindings utilized by Kraër noted are paper or half roan. The last column notes the cost of each title with the total at the end. Many books on the list are works by classical authors such as Apollonius, Pluto, and Xenophon. There are also travel books, reference works, and maps. The bill was signed in 1784 by Kraër on October 8 and Edward Gibbon on October 14.
