Exhibition: Museum MAS, Antwerp, Belgium (07.09.2013-26.01.2014)

The Force Mental rvstd facsimile was published on the occasion of Club Moral rvstd. The exhibition Club Moral rvstd was an initiative of the Research Group Archives and Avant-Gardes ArchiVolt in the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerpen, Belgium from 16 to 26 November 2010. Club Moral was founded in 1981 by artists Anne-Mie Van Kerckhoven and Danny Devos. In a factory building in Borgerhout (Antwerpen) they organised numerous exhibitions, performances, music concerts, lectures, film shows and theatre plays of Belgian and international artists from 1981 until 1993. From 1982 onwards also the magazine Force Mental was published as an extra platform for their activities and those by allied artists from Belgium and abroad. Force Mental was published in an edition of 500 or exceptionally 750 copies in offset print, the first seven numbers on colour paper, the later editions on white maco paper. The first issue was in A3 format, all the others on A4 format, some issues had special inserts or handmade contributions. In all, 16 issues were published, first bi-monthly, then quarterly and finally irregular; the sixteenth issue was only published 18 years after the fifteenth and could only be read digitally on the internet. Original issues of Force Mental are virtually unfindable nowadays. In this facsimile all issues were reproduced in A4 format and printed in black and white. A first edition of 100 was sold out in less than 10 days, so we decided to do a second printing. The actual facsimile of Force Mental has 602 pages, although in the reprint of the online 16th issue some online pages required several printed pages. The total volume of FORCE MENTAL rvstd counts 636 pages, including a full index of names of all the contributors
