Preventing chilhood obesity is one of the National Health and Nutritional Program main issues. Prevention is more efficient when done early and targeted. Brief intervention as shown its feasibility and efficiency in different areas, like tobacco or alcohol. Therefore, a brief intervention for parents of infants from 0 to 24 months with risks for obesity was created to prevent future risk-taking behaviors. It was defined with a questionnaire resulting from a literature review submitted to an expert panel according to the Delphi Method. Identifiers were : two parents, mother, father, brother or sister obese, birth weight >4000g or < 2500g, gestationnal diabetes, mother with low education level. Advice given : Drink water at table, Eat everything without restriction, Accept to leave food on the plate, Promote physical activity by avoiding televisions and games consoles in children's room. The present work gathered the parents' feelings and opinions of this brief intervention. The study shows that the majority (two-thirds) of parents have good relationships with their doctor and perceived a pleasant feeling during the brief intervention. Overall, they appreciated the advice and their approach, but the impact on lifestyle is however low. They appeared to want more time and listening from their doctor, especially to get more personalized information, when they thought they needed it. Among the prospects for improvement, it is possible to select more extensive intervention methods for the brief intervention, the creation of a support, information disseminated more widely and better training of health professionals
