Two police detectives are assigned to the case and suspect the victim is lying until another victim shows up. Soon the lil' slugger is blamed for a number of assaults throughout Tokyo. None of the victims can recall his face, but all remember the inline skates, the baseball cap, and a bent golden bat. Unable to stop the growing number of assaults by this young demon, the detectives lose their jobs. Meanwhile, the chaos is finally brought to order when it is discovered that all the victims are people undergoing some sort of crisis where the aftermath of the attack has actually improved their situations. Convinced the assailant is an evil supernatural force, the ex-cops continue to pursue the attacker. As public fear intensifies, the lines between truth and fiction begin to blur, mixing with a strange obsession for the up-coming animated television series about a dog named Maromi. On the night the show is to air, things finally come to a climax and it is revealed that the character designer is actually responsible for this paranormal monster, turning out to be a figment of her own imagination come to life.
