This work consists in evaluating the fatigue dependence on the mobilization length of the quadriceps femoris. Exercises varying the type and intensity of contraction are carried out in order to perturb the neuromuscular system with various factors of fatigue: centrals and/or peripherals. Exercises are performed at short and long muscle lengths. Neuromuscular parameters (voluntary torque, twitch torque, activation level, electromyograpic activity) are analysed before and after the fatiguing exercise. Results highlight that, whatever the type and the intensity of the contraction, fatigue appears more rapidly at long as compared to short muscle lengths. The mechanical deficiencies on the lengthened muscle would induce a more important contractile structure fatigue. These results can be applied on the prevention of the musculoskeletal disorders induced by occupational work
