The Institute bibliography : published and unpublished work by members of the Institute of Educational Technology by Don J., Ed Whitehead( Book )

10 editions published between 1984 and 1992 in English and held by 10 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Designed to update "The Institute Bibliography 1990" and its 1991 supplement, this bibliography includes all items submitted by members of the Institute of Educational Technology (iet) that are relevant to the area of educational technology. Although this is an update to the 1990 edition, it contains some new entries from 1989 onwards. It is divided into the following sections: (1) published work; (2) internal papers, memoranda, and reports; (3) lectures delivered outside the university; and (4) reports to external bodies. Within each of these sections annotated entries are listed alphabetically by author (co-authored papers are listed under the first author), and an institute bibliography (ib) number has been assigned to each entry. Three indexes to the bibliography are also provided. The first is an index by the unique ib number which identifies each item; the second is the author index, with all authors (including co-authors) listed alphabetically; and the third is the subject index. A description of IET's Open and Distance Learning Program for 1992 concludes the publication. (Mab)

Producing Distance Learning Materials Cash and Other Constraints by Don J Whitehead( Book )

3 editions published in 1985 in English and held by 4 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

In order to develop a financial plan for and identify constraints on the production of distance learning materials, a total human resources development (HRD) plan must be produced, and endorsed by the highest level of management. The HRD plan sets out the human resources needed to secure the organization's future in terms of people and their skills, knowledge, and abilities. Central to the HRD plan is the development of a training needs analysis (TNA), i.e., an integrated training system in which the teaching methods and delivery media match the students and the content to provide the best possible training system for the investment made. An important permanent feature of the TNA is a Central Evaluation and Monitoring Unit (CEMU) which analyzes and monitors performance and constructs a realistic financial plan for the training function. Setting up a system of training with a built-in capacity to improve itself, based on both systemic evaluation and dialogue with trainees and managers, should make it possible to provide relevant and timely training whenever and wherever it is needed.
