Mit Eigensinn : Schmuck aus Österreich : Künstlerinnen im Fokus = A mind of their own : jewellery from Austria : focusing on women artists
Ursula Guttmann (Editor), Susanne Hammer (Editor), Gabriele Kutschera (Editor), Museum Angerlehner (Host institution)
With a focus on the protagonists of early avant-garde jewelry, this publication presents an exciting insight into Austrian jewelry production from the 1970s to the present day, exemplified by some eighty jewelry objects, many of which from sculptural and conceptual approaches. Selected works from more recent generations not only highlight references to works of the pioneers but also attest to the developments of a fascinating and heterogeneous jewelry scene, whose diversity is yet to be discovered. The book's title points to the exhibition Kunst mit Eigen-Sinn. Aktuelle Kunst von Frauen (Willful Art: Contemporary Art by Women), which took place at the Museum des 20. Jahrhunderts in Vienna in 1985 and is regarded as a milestone in the artistic and social history of women. Exhibition: Museum Angerlehner, Thalheim, Austria (03.04. - 25.09.2022)
