The collection contains letters and postcards to Jean Sherman and Dashiell Hammett at the League of American Writers in New York City in response to her requests to donate manuscripts and books to auction, to autograph books, and to work at the book booths at the various fairs to aid exiled writers during the Spanish Civil War.
