On 5 April 1944, 41 Jews were taken from the Jewish home for the elderly in Mantova, which was used as an internment camp, and deported to the Fossoli camp, and from there to Auschwitz. On the basis of interviews and documents, attempts to reconstruct the story of Luisa Levi, who was 14 years old and the youngest of the deportees. Traces her life until her death in Auschwitz. Relates the stories of other children living in Mantova during the war: Emma Parigi (daughter of a Jewish father and Catholic mother), Claudio Gallico, Lidia Gallico, Anna Colorni (who hid in Firenze), and Renata Moratti (who lost her feet during a bombardment in 1944).
