Psychological thriller. Scottie Ferguson is hired by an old friend to investigate his wife Madeleine's behaviour. Scottie and Madeleine fall in love but Madeleine's death awakens Scottie's paranoia about heights. He later meets a girl, Judy, who resembles Madeleine; he becomes obsessed about her and makes her dress as Madeleine did. However, Scottie begins to realise that Madeleine, her husband and Judy are all connected. [Film Index International]
