The author of this book did a lot of research on Charles Dickens, the time he lived in, and the history of Urania Cottage; a place for fallen girls. She then twisted some facts about all of those things along with her own imagination and created this amazing story. This book should be saved for more mature audiences, as it talks about rape and abuse, but though the struggles of the girls were terrible and sad, there were a handful of people who cared and gave them a chance.
