Issued in publisher's green cloth; spine lettered down in white. In grey and green dust jacket; front flap with publisher description ("this good-natured satire upon dictatorship") and price 6s.; back flap with a "message addressed to countries outside Britain", concerning BBC broadcasts; on back, publisher's "early list for 1945" (listing Animal Farm as "a simple satire for a child of our time").
