Abstract:

Presents the text of the keynote lecture delivered at the SICSA conference held at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, 12 June 2006, devoted to "Multiculturalism, Antisemitism, and Ethnic Identity". Deplores the fact that present discourse on multiculturalism and "tolerance" on the part of some groups (such as militant Islamists) is but a smoke screen, concealing, inter alia, antisemitism and sometimes racism. In the USA, African-American leaders also disseminate antisemitism. Believes that multiculturalism in its present configuration has clearly failed.
