Abstract:

Photographic reproduction of a grammar, vocabulary, and catechism in the Eudeve language, compiled around 1650 by Father Baltasar Loaiza, Jesuit missionary priest in Mexico.

A Eudeve grammar, with text in Spanish, occupies the first 54 pages, followed by a short section containing prayers--Pater Noster, Ave Maria, and Apostles' Creed--and a catechism in Eudeve translated from the Latin. Beginning on p. 63, there is also a fragment of a Spanish-Eudeve vocabulary, listing Eudeve equivalents for Spanish terms from "abahar" to "bolver."
