Abstract:
Ali describes a stressful work environment as a teacher and problems communicating with her boss, the school’s principal. Though these stresses are constant through the school year, she feels she manages her work. At home, Ali recently went through a difficult breakup that greatly affected her. Between the increase in stress at work and the breakup, Ali says she exhausted at the end of the day and yet has difficultly sleeping. At night, Ali describes racing thoughts, thinking of stress at work, and waking up to answer emails or think about her ex-boyfriend. Ali has friends and coworkers that she can talk to about these stresses and often finds drinking with friends and venting to be therapeutic.
