Abstract:
Wishing him early recovery from his indisposition, saying that it is not Strauss's fault if [Mozart's] Cosi fan tutti [sic] is progressing slowly--Teufels Anteil [i.e. Auber's Part du diable], which was supposed to be produced the week before, after having been rehearsed again by Erdmannsdörfer, suddenly became a state affair when the managing director decided to take charge, have new sets made, etc.--, saying that [Lili] Dressler, who was to sing the role of Carlo Broschi [in Auber's opera], suddenly gave up the part and that [Lotte] Schloss must now learn it in eight days, outlining the few changes he has made in Così, mentioning [Milka] Ternina, Bettague [i.e. Katharina Senger-Bettaque], etc.
