Abstract:

Toute révolution est un coup de dés: "Nine men and women are sitting on a grassy hill in front of the walls encircling the Paris Pére Lachaise cemetery. They recite a poem by Stéphane Mallarmé. Bouncing back and forth between the people, a region of words comes into being, a light sculpture of texts, scanned and pounded out on the verge of silence. The film is dedicated to friends of the Straubs, as well as to the dead of the Paris Commune of May 1871."

Arbeiten zu "Klassenverhältnisse"--A documentary about the making of the film Rapports de classes (Class relations).

Avatars de "La mort d'Empédocle": "In the summer of 1986, Danièle Huillet and Jean-Marie Straub were working in the park of an old Sicilian mansion and in a clearing at the foot of Mount Etna shooting Der Tod des Empedokles. Assistant cameraman Jean-Paul Toraille toyed around, so to speak, with his first video camera, filming the daily work on the set."

Où gît votre sourire enfoui? "an absorbing - and often hilarious - close-up of a famous cinema couple: Danièle Huillet and Jean-Marie Straub, and their impassioned quarrelsome dialogue in the editing room."

6 bagatelas: Pedro Costa takes six unused scenes of Où gît votre sourire enfoui? and put them into a new context. These fragments are not only "bagatelles," but a special look at Danièle Huillet and Jean-Marie Straub.

Straub-Huillet e Pavese, quei loro incontri: Documentary on the last work of Danièle Huillet and Jean-Marie Straub, the stage production of Cesare Pavese's "Dialoghi con Leucò."

Sicilia! Si gira: documentary on the making of the film Sicilia.

Dites-moi quelque chose: At a Huillet-Straub retrospective, members of the audience hear Jean-Marie Straub speak about his films.
