This is a beautifully illustrated, surprisingly informative, nonfiction biography of the life of Harriet Tubman. Written in spare but lovely simple prose, it accurately tracks her life backwards, from end to beginning. A beginning that had nothing but imprisonment, pain, and one small ray of hope...
