Abstract:
Newsletter for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the Benbow families who came mainly from Herefordshire, England to the United States in the 1840s. Some early ancestors included Prestwood Benbow, Ellen Benbow and her husband William Carter; and Tom and Sarah Benbow. Tom, Sarah, and others were converted to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. They settled in Nauvoo, Illinois, and migrated to Utah with the Mormon pioneers in 1847. Some settled in the Salt Lake Valley; some moved again in 1859 to California. John William Benbow (1831-1890) was one pioneer ancestor who established his family in Iowa. His family and other Benbows also lived in Australia, Canada, the Canary Islands, and in California, Illinois, Iowa, Montana, Texas, Utah, and elsewhere.
