Publisher Synopsis
"Intimate, feel-good and quick-fire" Guardian "Funny and clever and touching" Telegraph "This is gay life, not as we know it, but as we wish it was when we were 15." Time Out "Levithan has created a scrumptious new sub-genre; teen literature where sexuality isn't treated as a problem and isn't a coming out story. An immensely likeable read." This book is upbeat and quirky which contrasts with other darker gay-themed novels. The setting is quite unrealistic --a high school population that accepts gay, bisexual and transexual characters. The star quarterback is also the homecoming queen and the main character,Paul's family and friends all accept him. The most realistic and important chapter deals with Paul's friend Tony's relationship with his fundamentalist parents.
