Unbelievably unsympathetic characters

One of the few books I never finished. Read first 70 pages and last 100 pages. Agreed with friend who said that Rowling was attempting to document every possible social sin. Most characters appeared too cartoonish in their total lack of redeeming characteristics. Real people are a mix of good and...
