Notes: Attributed to Thomas Richards, who resented the ridicule of his Welsh countrymen by Edward Holdsworth in his Muscipula, published in 1709. Richards retaliated with this Latin verse satire on Hampshire, Holdsworth's native county. See Oxford DNB (Holdsworth, Edward).
Dedication headed: "Augusto admodum & undiquaque spectabili heroi Domino H-- S-- [Henry Sacheverell] Maredydius Caduganus Pymlymmonensis. S.P.D." Sacheverell "is said to have encouraged" the composition of Muscipula--Oxford DNB.
Mock advertisement, "Catalogue of books printed and sold in the Borough", directed at Sacheverell: p. [17].
