Abstract:

Contains account by Nicholas Robinson of Queen Elizabeth's visit to Cambridge including a detailed list of the founders, benefactors, eminent graduates and then members of the majority of the Cambridge colleges, with a letter from Cecil announcing the Queen's visit and an outline of the plans to be adopted, as well as the orations, etc. of the participants. Also, his account of the Queen's visit to Oxford, 1566 (leaves 154-166v), printed by Nichols in his Progresses of Queen Elizabeth; and Richard Stephens' A brief rehearsal (leaves 167-172v, 174), extracted from Thomas Neale's account of the same visit, printed in C. Plummer's Elizabethan Oxford.
