Abstract:

Asserts that Islamic antisemitism is a tradition instated already in the Qur'an, in which the Jews, tolerated as a subordinate minority (dhimma) with restricted rights, were accused of falsifying the Bible, violating their own laws, and conspiring from within Islamic society to destroy it. From the 8th century to the 20th, throughout the Arab world there were innumerable events of violence against the Jews. The creation of the State of Israel was an unacceptable event for radical Islamists; according to their interpretation of the Qur'an, the Jews cannot even aspire to have their own state in territories considered sacred to Islam. The current incitement against Jews and Israel in the mosques of the Islamic world and in Europe is an indication that this hostility is reaching extremely dangerous levels.
