Abstract:

Clippings, articles, pamphlets, maps, and other materials concerning the history of the Town of Cornwall. Items of note include receipts, promissory notes, and accounts of the Ketcham family, 1807-1828; cancelled checks and several letters of Charles Curie, 1881-1896; clippings of "Uncle Ike's Diary," 1951-1952, on events and people of Cornwall, taken from the diary of Isaac M. Cocks for 1883-1942; clippings, letters, postcards, notes, transcripts of tombstone headings, and pamphlet on local cemeteries, 1928-1976; personal and household account books of George H. Lamb, 1871-1894; letters of the Barton family, 1855-1867, concerning the Civil War, children, marriages, and deaths; original letters, autobiographical sketch, photographs, and clippings about Amelia E. Barr, 1891-1916, a writer who lived in Cornwall part of her life; local deeds and title abstracts, 1803-1919; deeds, agreements, will, and legal papers of the Van Duzer family, 1794-1878; and clippings of the reminiscences of Sidney Pope on his early life in Cornwall, 1952.
