Summary:	The collection consists of 35 letters from Count Heiden to Admiral Codrington, most docketed or annotated by Codrington. Subjects includes the battle of Navarino and its aftermath; Codrington's summary recall from Malta by the British government and his defense of his conduct at Navarino; discussion of events in the Russo-Turkish War; and Codrington's visit to St. Petersburg in 1830. Also present is one letter from Codrington to Heiden; a letter from an unidentified correspondent on Condrington's recall; and copy of a dispatch by the diplomat and philhellene Count Capodistrias.  Read more...
