Abstract:

The David Kraehenbuehl Papers contain manuscripts, mechanical reproductions, and published versions of Kraehenbuehl's original musical compositions and transcriptions. The Papers also hold a large selection of Kraehenbuehl's writings, particularly in the fields of music theory and piano pedagogy. In addition to correspondence, programs, clippings, photographs, and biographical materials, the Papers house miscellaneous materials relating to Kraehenbuehl's teacher, Paul Hindemith, and to musical organizations that he helped found, including the New School for Music Study and the National Keyboard Arts Associates.
