Abstract:

In this book by the Institute for Innovation and Technology (IIT), various aspects and starting points for the current transformation are examined starting from a German perspective. The development of a digital sovereignty and emerging fields of action are shown for citizens, companies and the state. Economic globalization and digitization have intensified interactively in recent years. This development has subjected all aspects of human action and action to transformation. Their accelerated influence on almost all areas of life is now becoming aware of many people and causing fears. At the end of the digital transformation, life and action will have little to do with what individuals, businesses and states have known today or even ten years ago. No one can predict what the changes will lead to in sum. This unsettles decision-makers from politics and business. Today's actors need a comprehensive sovereignty of action to be able to shape the current and future life for themselves and a digitized society. Their action sovereignty has been limited by technological developments in digitization in recent years. Therefore, digital sovereignty in the sense of digital action sovereignty is a necessary condition for entry into the age of digital enlightenment. This book is open access under CC BY-NC license.
