In July 1996 correspondence with the collector Daniel Leab, Peter Davison notes that the "first impression is bound in black with lime-green lettering. Second impression has printed on it 'Second impression'. Third impression has printed on it 'Third impression'. The second and third impressions are bound in buff (or stone) and have black lettering. The binding of the first impression is shorter by about 1/4 ins than the 2nd and 3rd impressions."
