"Probably edited by David Francis, one of its printer-publishers ..." (William Shakespeare bibliography / Jaggard, p. 508. See also Catalog of Barton collection / Boston Public Library, I, p. 5). W.W. Clapp in his Record of the Boston stage, 1853, says "The notes were rewritten and condensed by Mr. Munroe from an English edition, and subsequently adopted by several publishers."
