Abstract:

Memoirs of a Jew, born as Rifka Norman in Vilna ca. 1927. In 1941 she was interned in the ghetto with her parents and younger brother; her sister had fled to the East. Her mother died in the ghetto, and in August 1943 the rest of the family was deported to Estonia, where they went through various labor camps. In 1944 she and her father were transported to Stutthof, and she never saw him again. She was then sent to the Ochsenzahl labor camp near Hamburg, and later to Bergen-Belsen, where she was liberated by the British. After the war she was reunited with her sister; her brother had perished. She married in 1948 and settled in Australia in 1949.
