Abstract:
The collection consists of 2 volumes of manuscript lectures entitled "Constitution des États Unis." Written in French by Laboulaye, most of the 59 lectures were delivered during the 1862-1863 session of the Collège de France. There are a few from the 1863-1864 year.
In a series of 48 lectures Laboulaye covered the settlement of New England up through the adoption of the constitution. There are an additional 11 lectures on colonial America. There is also a copy of Laboulaye's "De la constitution Américaine et de l'utilité de son étude" (1850) and title pages from his "Considérations sur la constitution" (1848) and "Locke" (1850).
