Abstract:

This report documents a selection of 30 experiences from Latin America, which highlight the linkages between gender and the environment. Case studies draw on a range of environmental issues, including environmental education, alternative markets, crop diversification, recovery of degraded water and land areas, seed safeguarding, and institutional policies and global agreements. They are designed to show that gender equity is an essential prerequisite for the achievement of environmental sustainability.
