Abstract:
Nathan Zuckerman returns to New York after more than a decade in rural New England. Within a few days of arriving in New York, he accidentally encounters Amy Bellette, the woman who was once the companion of his first literary idol, writer S.I. Lonoff. He also meets a young couple and offers to swap homes, with them moving to his rural home and he returning to New York. He also is hounded by his would-be biographer, who wants to uncover his secrets. His life is changing.
