Abstract:

Faire mouche gives a triumph all inside, the joy of arriving safely after a funambulesque crossing, breath held. The intensity of this novel of Vincent Almendros, in apnea in the lie and the silence, comes from this satisfaction under cape, unshakable, that the secrets are well preserved. Guardian of his own inner temple, where are locked shames, sorrows, exactions, perhaps crimes, Laurent returns a summer to Saint-Fourneau, place of slow combustion of his bad memories of childhood: the death of his father, and the mad gesture of his mother, who poured bleach into her young throat. On the passenger seat of his car, Laurent posed an accomplice to the mobiles as buried as his own, a certain Claire, who wants to pretend to be a Constance, because clarity is not the purpose of the trip, while perseverance and equality of mood promise a reduction of burdens. Arrived at destination, the couple of circumstance falls on a decaying family rest, a future wedding party illusion on the virtues of rabibochage.
