Federico Fellini was an Italian film director and screenwriter. Known for his distinct style, he is recognized as one of the greatest and most influential filmmakers of all time. In a career spanning almost 50 years, Fellini won the Palme d'Or for his masterpiece La Dolce Vita (1961). Fellini went on to win four Academy Awards for Best Foreign Film for La Strada (1956), Nights of Cabiria (1957), 8½ (1963), and Amarcord (1974). In 1993, he was awarded an honorary Oscar for Lifetime Achievement.
