Can a person overcome the predisposition of chemistry and biology? Definitely, and there are tens of thousands of books on that subject. This book covers the default physical development only.
One area irritated me and that was in one section she used words that inferred the development process was positive for female brains and negative for male brains (one section of the brain was enhanced for females and killed off for males). In her later book, The Male Brain, she was very neutral, as she should be in this type of book.
I learned a lot about the operation and development of the brain. I would recommend these two books for anyone who wants an indepth, structured look at the subject.
