Abstract:

Teenage cancer survivors Mari and Jase have flirted for years at Camp Chemo, but when she transfers to his high school their different approaches to their history cause trouble.

Jase Ellison doesn't remember having Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia when he was three years old. His cancer diagnosis only enters his mind at his yearly checkup at the oncology clinic and when he attends Camp Chemo in the summer. Mari Manos has never been able to hide her cancer survivorship-- she lost a leg and uses crutches. She loves Camp Chemo, and has developed a crush on fellow camper Jase. When Mari transfers to Atlanta West Prep, he doesn't want his friends to find out about his 'disease.' How do you move on from cancer when the world won't let you? -- adapted from back cover
