The entries are arranged alphabetically, according to the name of the rescuer(s), giving information such as where they lived, their occupation, marital status, economic status, whether they had contacts with Jews before the war, whether they were helped by others in the act of rescue, how the Jew came to seek refuge, under what circumstances and at what stage of the war. Relates, also, to the fate of the rescuer and of the rescued. The first xlviii pp. contain introductions; see, in particular, "I giusti in Italia: Uno sguardo sintetico", by Bracha Rivlin (pp. xxxiii-xlviii).
