Abstract:

Relates the activities of Hanoar Hazioni in Hungary during World War II. Before the Nazi invasion in March 1944, the movement focused on rescue and relief activities on behalf of refugees from Poland who were persecuted by the Hungarian authorities and were in danger of being deported to Nazi-occupied territories. After the Nazi invasion, the activities revolved around the preparation of forged documents and hiding places, assistance in escaping from ghettos and flight to Romania, and organization of resistance. Includes many excerpts from testimonies.
